WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY...

At A Cat Clinic we do what we do for the love of cats. Our doctors, technicians and staff members are all cat lovers and it shows in everything we do. We are proud of the relationships we have established with our cats and their owners throughout the years and we are happy to share some of their stories with you here.

“I (Burmese) was playing in our backyard when all of a sudden a loud, scary dog came out of nowhere and attacked me. I don’t remember the emergency surgery, but I do remember the long term care that followed with Dr. Rubenstein at A Cat Clinic. Not only did she care for me during the day, but she knew I needed round the clock care so she took me home with her every night. She gave me my medicine, fed me through a feeding tube, comforted me with her loving voice and gentle touch. I missed my owners, but Dr. Rubenstein treated me as if I were her very own. As wonderful as the people at A Cat Clinic were during those two weeks, I missed my best friend Zimba (Tonkinese) and I knew he missed me too. Dr. Rubenstein knew I was getting better and a visit from my best friend would cheer me up, as it would Zimba. He had been loudly wondering where I was and when I was coming back. I’ll never forget seeing Zimba for the first time since the incident. He jumped up next to me on the table, gave me a sniff and was so relieved to see that I was okay. From that moment we knew we would be together again very soon and life would eventually return to normal.

I came so close to losing my life. I was hurt and scared. There were times I didn’t think I’d make it, but the people at A Cat Clinic nursed me back to good health and reunited me with my best friend. Thank you Dr. Rubenstein!

"When my cat was four, she had recurrent, severe bouts of illness that seriously endangered her health. I went through four different vets who had a lot of vague ideas as to diagnoses and treatments, none of which was successful. Eventually, I was referred to A Cat Clinic. I can definitely say that, if it weren't for the care and support that A Cat Clinic has provided to both Gwyn and me over the years, Gwyn would have died on several different occasions. In her older years Gwyn wasn’t as active as she once was, but she remained alert and happy and both of us enjoyed our time together until Gwyn passed at the age of twenty. Thank you, Dr. Rubenstein, Dr. Mullins, and all the other folks at A Cat Clinic for all you did for us throughout the years!"

"The dedication, professionalism, concern and care which Dr. Dale Rubenstein and Dr. Lisa Mullins have consistently provided are the reasons for our allegiance to their veterinary clinic. A Cat Clinic has treated our cats from kittenhood through senior years, providing the best care. We often refer family and friends to A Cat Clinic, knowing that they will receive the same attention as we have enjoyed for over 20 years."

"We have been taking our cats to A Cat Clinic since 1986. Several times, we've also adopted cats from the Clinic. From frisky new kittens to settled seniors, well-cat exams through some serious health issues, our cats have all gotten wonderful care from Dr. Rubenstein and her staff. We love the cats-only, friendly, caring atmosphere, and the full range of services provided by A Cat Clinic."

"We moved from San Francisco to Potomac in 1999 with our two elderly cats. We quickly found A Cat Clinic, where they were loved and cared for through various illnesses and aging dilemmas until their demise. After both our oldies died, we got our first purebred cat, a young male Nebelung. A year later we got an unrelated Nebelung female, and then another year later came a litter of kittens (we now have all five cats). Dr. Rubenstein and Dr. Mullins have been honest, compassionate, caring, often going above and beyond in the care of all of them. Not only are the medical services great at A Cat Clinic, but so is all of the staff and the boarding facilities – the rooms with a view and the condos are pretty cool! I cannot say thank you often enough."

"Since Dr. Dale opened her practice in the 1980s, she has cared for all of our kitties (and us) with intelligence, skill, and compassion. Her follow-up calls and sensible advice reinforce her lifecycle approach to vet care. She charms the crankiest of kitties with her firm hugs and soothing voice. We have referred many of our friends to her wonderful practice; they love and respect her as much as we do."

"For 14 years I've taken my 3 kitty boys to A Cat Clinic because of the veterinarians' professionally-recognized expertise and experience in feline healthcare, and their warmth and compassion. Doctors Rubenstein and Mullins are wonderful, as are their personable, warm and understanding vet techs. They have guided me through a wide range of healthcare matters for my animal companions, from kitten care, to routine care and emergency treatment services, to sensitive and compassionate euthanasia. They explain what the problem is or may be, discuss and plan a rational and reasonable course of action for diagnosis and treatment with my active input, and follow-up on treatment progress with genuine concern and treatment modifications as needed. When specialty care or consultation has been appropriate, the vets at A Cat Clinic have referred me to top-notch colleagues who are just as special as they are.
I trust and have been the beneficiary of their common-sense approach to practicing preventive and continuing care that is thorough and comprehensive, and based on what is best and what makes sense for each individual patient. I am grateful for the professional care provided by the vets at A Cat Clinic for my treasured feline companions; we'd be fortunate indeed to find healthcare of this nature and quality for ourselves."
